Agenda

 

Four Taiwanese-American pharmacists and pharmacy resident across the US will share their journey on how they prepared to become pharmacists and the opportunities in their careers.

 

Speakers

 

Alex Lin is Professor of Pharmacy 5.0, Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences, and Founder and Director, Online MS Healthcare Operational Excellence, The James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also Director of Pharmacy 5.0+ Transformation Initiative, which was established to be a global innovation incubator and accelerator to speed up delivery of mass-personalized pharmacy services

 

Amy Liu grew up in Fairfax, VA and attended undergrad at Virginia Tech and graduated with a BS in Biochemistry and minor in chemistry in 2011. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Pharmacy school in 2016, while working at Safeway as a technician and intern. She was a Floater Pharmacist for one year, then a staff Pharmacist for 3 years. Since 2020, she has been working at the FDA, while working as a PRN Pharmacist at Giant Pharmacy.

 

Kaden Shen is an emergency medicine pharmacist with clinical interests in emergency medicine, toxicology and neurocritical care. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University and completed both his PGY-1 and PGY-2 residencies at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, specializing in emergency medicine. He is interested in staying involved in clinical research and precepting as part of his long-term career in emergency medicine.

 

Bill Wu is a retired clinical pharmacist from Kaiser Permanente in mid-Atlantic region. I have been visiting Taiwan as a guest lecturer at pharmacy schools for almost twenty years. My B. S. Degree of pharmacy is from South Dakota State U; my PharmD is from U of Maryland. I used to serve as a clinical assistant professor for U of Maryland and VCU for over fifteen years.
